Uki Goñi

italiano

Uki Goñi is a U.S. born Argentine based in Buenos Aires. He was a reporter for the Buenos Aires Herald, a daily English newspaper, during the dictatorship.

While the Argentine media was almost without exception controlled by the dictatorship, highly supportive of the armed forces, and conspicuously silent about the disappearances, the Herald was the exception. It was the only paper in Argentina to report about disappearances and atrocities in an unbiased way, thereby placing its reporters and owners in a life threatening situation.

Uki's intelligent and sensitive Books and Stories are first rate investigative chronicles of the events leading to, coinciding and following the so called dirty-war.
