Who we are?

PlanetQuant is a professional collaboration between a financial
writer and researcher, a Silicon Valley computer scientist, and an
award-wining multimedia developer. Every two weeks, these three combine
their talents to provide an update on the world's market indexes and
always welcome any feedback and discussion.

Ariel Faigon
is a computer science grad with over twenty years of
experience building software systems. His past work includes the
design and construction of data mining, optimization, and machine
learning applications for Yahoo!, Silicon Graphics, National
Semiconductor, and others. More recently he's been applying his
expertise to the field of financial engineering and economic
decisions under uncertainty. His GNU/Linux machines churn out and
test quantitative models while he sleeps. He resides in Los Altos, CA.

Tristan Yates
researches and writes about leveraged indexing
strategies using ETF options and other derivatives. His articles
have been published in SeekingAlpha, Investopedia, Trader's Journal,
and Futures & Option Trader, distributed through Forbes and Yahoo!,
and mentioned in the Wall Street Journal. His book, "Indexing with
Derivatives" will be published in 2008 through Wiley. He has an MBA
from INSEAD in Singapore and now lives and works in Bethesda, MD.

Juan Romero
is an award-winning new media developer, creative director,
and graphic designer with more than eighteen years of
professional experience. He consults for the financial industry,
combining creative expertise with a software engineering background
and industry knowledge. Previous projects include the information
architecture, front-end design, and executive presentations for
Fannie Mae's high visibility $1T restatement project.
